English

The National Curriculum 2014 is used to plan and teach English but we emphasise the use of key skills across the curriculum and in a variety of real life situations.  Please use the link to the relevant National Curriculum document on an adjoining page.

Children learn to read using a variety of strategies (including the use of phonics) aimed to develop fluent, life-long readers. Parents are encouraged to work in partnership with teachers to develop reading skills.

Writing, speaking and listening skills are taught in meaningful contexts.

Year 6 Long Term Plan 2015-2016

Welcome to all our children, their parents and visitors. Thank you for helping to raise £258 for Macmillan Cancer Support. As always, the Leys Farm Community work so hard for others. Our Harvest Festival is on 6 October. All food donated will go to support Scunthorpe Food Bank and their work to help less fortunate families in our town. Please help us to make our school as Nut Free as possible to support the safety of a pupil with a severe allergy.
