We had an excellent response to our response to our fund-raising  for “Wish upon a Star” and “Help for Heroes “. We have been able to donate just over £60.00 to each charity.

Also thank you for supporting the poppy day collection. All our children responded very appropriately to the two minute silence on 11th November.

On Thursday 10th December we will have an “Open  Morning” from 9.00 to about 10.30am. All of the parents are invited to come and see the childrens at work, and the work they have done so far this term. We will not have  the usual Family Assemblies this term as so much time and effort is going into practising for our concert. The Open Morning is also an opportunity for parents of year 2 ( and younger) children to come and have a look around.  If you have any friends or acquaintances who would like to come in, please let them know. They will be made very welcome.

The Toast Morning by Lauren

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009

On the 9th of November the school had a toast morning.  Most of the school bought some toast with jam on.  The school council helped with the event. They had lots of fun and we raised £23.10 just on the Monday event.  Every one looked  like they enjoyed it.  We also had a toast morning on Thursday 12th of November which was also a huge success. Altogether we raised £43.10  well done to everyone who bought some toast. Hope you enjoyed eating the toast!.

The Roman Trader Visit by Owen

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009

On  the 4th of November a Roman Trader called Julia  came to visit our school. The children in yr 5/6  got to do different  activities. There was a Roman shop. We had to make the right  amount of money to buy stuff  for dinner. The children  got  to  make herb bags with Herbs and spices. We followed recipe sheets.

The children also worked with Roman artifacts. We had to sort them out  between Roman and not Roman. We also got to dress up and make mosaics with blocks . The Trader  was going to take some of us for slaves. But she didn’t take us. She might take us next year.

A taste of History

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009

Mrs. Johnson came once again to cook roman food for yr 5,6 and Tudor food for yr 3,4  its so tasty. Jasmine in Miss Laidlaw’s said‘‘ all the foods were so tasty, my favorite was the peppered sweet cake” and Ayden in yr3 said “I liked the Tudor freedom toast best, it was lovely.’’ We all sat and watched and took turns to cook or watched it was very exciting . First of all Mrs Johnson  asks the classes  some history questions to find out what we already know. We also get to dress up in the clothes of the Romans or Tudors, We made lots of lovely food  and had a great day!
